So, the refurb is fully under way, the website is published, the calendar is up and running and Temple Croft B&B is officially open for online bookings.

We’ve been hosting visitors off and on since April 2019, but we hope the restoration, modernisation and new website will bring an enhanced Temple Croft experience to a wider audience.

Like opening a B&B, launching a new website is always a leap of faith. You’ve made all your preparations, checks and best guesses, but there’s always that nagging element of doubt: will people like the design? Will pages display correctly, and on all devices? Will links work and go to the right destinations?

Even if the consequences of catastrophic failure are not so dire, the no-going-back feeling as you prepare to push the publish button is akin to that moment on your first freefall parachute jump, when, with the ground rushing upwards, you pray that the frayed-looking ripcord will take the strain of an adrenalin-soaked yank (sharp tug, not American parachute instructor).

I guess what this first post represents is a plea for understanding and, hopefully, feedback. Please don’t hate us if the website doesn’t work quite as smoothly as it should at first; please do call or email if you have any problems viewing or navigating the site or making a booking.
